About Jason Rohrer

Jason Rohrer, an Ohio native, has had a lifelong interest in games that blossomed into design after he studied Computer Science at Cornell University. Although he has been developing and distributing them since 2004, it was the release of Passage on the 2007 Gamma 256 event in Montréal that propelled Jason as one of the leading figures of the indie game movement.

A seemingly contradictory figure, Jason defies his technical background with a simple lifestyle almost devoid of technology. Currently living in New Mexico with his wife and two kids, he grows their own food, uses bikes for transportation and tries to trim his budget and consumption to a minimum in order to reduce their ecological footprint. It is from this quixotic place that he develops his titles and continues to push the boundaries of what we believe games are capable of.
